Teaching for liberation. Designing education that heals.
I’m Lili, a queer, mixed race educator, curriculum designer, and advocate for transformative education. I’ve been working in classrooms since 2015, specializing in middle school learners, Indigenous and Pacific Islander youth, and students with “behavior challenges”—who I see as brilliant, complex, and deeply worthy of care.
Professional Background
I hold certifications in Secondary English, Secondary Social Studies, and K–12 ESL/ELL, and I’m currently completing my K–12 Special Education certification.
Over the years, I’ve been honored to teach in Title 1 schools and serve rich, diverse communities. My journey has included:
-
Teaching science through place-based education at an ancient Hawaiian fishpond
-
Helping open a brand-new middle school from the ground up
-
Supporting students transitioning from inpatient behavioral programs
-
Creating inclusive classrooms where neurodivergent and multiply marginalized students are affirmed
What I Believe

Behavior is Communication
Compassionate responses, not punishment
Culture is Strength
Curriculum must reflect lived realities
Liberatory Education is Possible
Joy and justice belong in every classroom
OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Lover of horror movies - especially classic and international

Collage and mixed-media art maker

Birding enthusiast and nature appreciator
Why this space exists
I created this platform to support educators who are ready to teach in ways that are liberatory, trauma-informed, and rooted in justice. If you’re seeking lessons that reflect your students' cultures, SEL that actually matters, or strategies that help—not harm—your most vulnerable learners, you’re in the right place.
